April 2010
Every so often I like to spice things up a bit in how I wake up mommy. So, today I went into her room and said, "Cock-a-doodle-do!" Then I took her blanket off of her and insisted that she get up :). We got to take all of the dogs on a walk today, they always love that and so do I!
It's Easter! When I woke up this morning it was to a surprise of an Easter basket full of goodies at the foot of my bed. I just had to rush into mommy's room to tell her that the Easter Bunny came and hurried her into my room to come and see! After we looked at the stuff in my basket I said thank you to the Easter bunny. Mommy explained to me why we celebrate Easter and told me that Jesus died for us so that we could go to heaven when we die. To which I replied, that I don't want to die. I guess I'll understand this whole concept more when I'm older, not that I'm not a big girl now, but when I'm an even bigger. When mommy was putting me to bed, I helped my ducky say it's prayers and said,"…thank you for the jelly beans….thank you for the food to be ready when it's dark…"
At the store today, I saw a couple of Easter things I wanted. Mommy told me that if I wanted them I had to use her quarters I got in the Easter egg hunt at grandma and grandpa's yesterday. So the lady rang it up and mommy started to count out the quarters. I got a little panicked when I saw how many of my quarters it was taking and exclaimed, "That's enough." When we got home, I request we made cookies for family home evening. After we finished them we went out to grammy and baba's for a little while. And naturally while we were gone the dogs pulled the cookies of the stove and ate them all! In the words of mommy, those little devils!
In looking for mommy this morning, I discovered her outside on the swing and I asked her just, "What do you think you're doing out here" with that tone, you know the one I mean. Lately I've been saying "oh poops" when something goes a rye. When things go wrong something's got to be said, and oh poops just feels right. A little while ago I noticed mommy use a piece of toilet paper to blow her nose with. I figured she was confused and let her know in the previously mentioned tone, "That's for the bummies." She tried to tell me it is a multi-purpose item that has endless possibilities :).
I was watching some of Lion King before bed and during the scene when the lion cubs get in trouble for going beyond the borders I started turning my head and leaning towards the screen and said, "How do I get in there, so I can make them happy."
After MDFF, we went to grammy's for the day. While we were there I wanted mom to sit on some rocks with me and think and would say, "Think, think, think." Then I got some smaller rocks, one for her and one for me and said that they were thinking rocks and tapped it on my cheek while saying, "Think, think, think." They were awfully handy little rocks because they also doubled as a phone!
Mommy was telling grammy about some chest pain she experienced in the middle of the night. I asked mommy if her heart was broken because I heard her mention the term heart burn. So, then I pretended to pull my heart out and said that she could have mine :). I wouldn't want mommy to go around with a broken heart after all.
One of the first things I said when I got up was to ask mommy if it was Clancy's birthday today. And it is! After church we drove over to uncle Clancy's to celebrate his birthday with him. While we were there they asked me if I was going to do some pull ups (on uncle Clancy's pull up bar) and I said that I already have pull ups and pulled my pull ups out of my pants a little and said, "See?" All the way home, I insisted that I wanted to sleep in mommy's car when we got home. So when we got home and mommy got me ready for bed and we took a drive around the block.
For family home evening I wanted to make pancakes, so we got to have pancakes for dinner! I love breakfast for dinner! I have this favorite pair of pajamas. It's the kind with the feet in them, you know the ones I'm talking about? The pink ballerina pajamas I got from grandpa when he dressed up like Santa Clause at Christmas. Anyways, I insist on wearing them just as much as mommy will let me. Mommy says that they are a huge pain to get on and off every time I have to go to the bathroom especially when I kick them all of the way off. So while trying to get them back on me, she expressed that she hates them. When she said that, I told her to be happy, to not be ornery or to hate the pajamas. All wise council I've received from her at one time or another.
I told mommy today, "Let's get this show on the road!"
I think I've decided most definitely that I am obsessed with Halloween. I'm always asking mommy when it will be and what everyone is going to dress up as and what I will be. I said that I will be Cinderella and list everything that I will need for the costume. It is my expert opinion that baba should be superman. What everyone else is, changes from day today. I also told mommy that I'm going to marry a prince but not until I have the proper attire (dress, crown, shoes, etc...) and that we will have a baby named Liza.
There's bad new and there's good news. The bad news is that I have another bladder infection and had it confirmed at the doctor's today. The good news is that it's MDFF and I got to go to the park. Even more so daddy is in town to visit me and I got to see him before I went to bed!
After daddy dropped me off to go home I wanted to get my dress on and go to church and to play in the nursery, but mommy said that they'd already been to church. I was pretty disappointed, but there's always next week.
I tried a most unconventional way of going down the slide. Yeah, face first can only end in tears. Needless to say, I hurt my lip. After I stopped crying I wanted to go back out, but said that I would be careful not to do that again. While playing on the swing set with grammy and baba, grammy was sitting in one of the swings and I told her, "Your butt's too big for that swing." Hmmm…I wonder where I heard that from.
I had so much fun for fhe (family home evening), I got to go to the library to pick out a book and to the park. Then when we got home, mommy filled up my pool so I could play in it! To top it all off, we took the dogs on a walk as per my request.
When we were at church today, I informed mommy that Jesus wants us to sing and to pray :).
Mommy was holding me while I was drinking me sippy. I tried to get her to rock me by moving back and forth, but my subtle hint was not getting through to her, so I just point blank said, "Rock me!" For fhe we went and visited aunt Laree's grave.
I was having a really fantastic stretch when mommy put me in bed and I told her that, "I'm just stretching because I'm tuckered out".
I'm up to my usual mixing up of my wake up routine for mommy. This was my best idea yet. I went outside, rang the doorbell, and then ran inside closing the door behind me and hid by the bookcase. When she came out to see what was going on, I said, "I waked you up!"
I feel like such a big girl today. Mommy created my very own log on account on the computer for me! Something strange happened to my while I was helping mommy plant flowers in the front yard. I decided that I was done and wanted my pajamas back on. When she was changing me mommy noticed that my wrists, which were the only part of my skin exposed, were red and swollen with lumps on them. She gave me some Benadryl and it cleared right up, so it looks like I must be allergic to one of the flowers in the yard, but which one remains a mystery. Later on while I was still working outside, I went inside to get something. When I came back out I had my panties and footie pajamas around her ankles and was otherwise naked. I asked mom for help getting my pajamas back one. While I was inside I went to the bathroom all by myself.
Other exciting news, I am now wearing big girl panties full time. I finally started wearing them at night too. I wasn't very happy about it at first because I wanted to wear my pull ups to bed. But when mommy explained that pull ups were for little girls and conceded because I am after all a big girl now, not little.
I'm so full of questions these days. One of my favorite questions is to ask mommy when I'm watching a show, "Is that a naughty guy or a good guy", about all the characters. I also ask her questions like, "Is that an apple or not", or whatever the case may be. Oh, my heavens, and the question just never stop. For every answer I get from mommy I have at least ten more lined up. There is so much to know and I need to know it all.
The other day when I went to get something while I was eating, I told mom to guard the food. One must have constant vigilance where food is involved with these rascally dogs around. Mom sometimes refers to them as vultures. When I was at grammy and baba's I was being so helpful and helping to feed grandpa his food. In the true spirit of feeding someone else, I made sure that I did all the airplane stuff you're apparently supposed to do when you feed someone else :).
Mommy was talking to Clancy this morning and gave me a kiss. As usual these days, I said not to kiss me. She gave her usual response, "but I love you." So I just told her, "Then don't kiss me." That ought to do the trick. Later, I was helping mommy plant the fruit/vegetable garden I put the seeds in the holes. Much to my pleasant surprise I found a rock. So I dug a hole for the rock, covered it up, and wah-la I planted a rock tree :). Mommy promised me cookies and donuts, and I also wanted pizza, so we went to the store to get some. While we were waiting in line I was asking her, as usual, none stop questions. And do you know what she told me? She said that I had exceeded my question limit for the day! I gave her a funny look, like hey.
