I, like most mom's, find my daughter to be both unbearably adorable and entertaining. So I decided to start a blog completely dedicated to her quirky personality. This way we can share the love with anyone interested. Being Sadie's mom is the best thing that ever happened to me, so I hope you enjoy The Adventures of Little Miss Sadie Laree as much as I do!

June 2008

Mommy and daddy were tossing one of my toys back and forth, then I took it and tried to throw it to daddy and just ended up throwing it behind me. I'll get it one of these days, I just have to keep working out the kinks.

I was out in the yard with mommy today and the whole time I kept saying "alright" over and over. So I have figured out how to get up on the chairs and also how to move them where I want them. While mommy was cleaning the house I moved a chair over to one of the drawers and was having a good time taking stuff out of it. Mommy cooked dinner and while we were eating I thought that it was hilarious to wave my hand in front of my face like you do when something stinks. While we were playing games mommy said, “I know,” and I liked the sound of it, so I repeated it.

I have figured out how to stand on one foot and hold it up so that mommy can put my pants and shoes on me. This is most helpful :). I also figured out how to switch hands with whatever I'm is holding so that mommy can change my shirt or put me in my car seat. Also most helpful. But wait, there is more, I also hold my feet up when I don’t want mommy to set me on the floor when she's holding me. This is not helpful, for her anyways, it helps me quite a bit.

While mommy was gone today, I kept saying "amen", because one of my toys repeats the “child’s prayer”. I also brought my shoes to my grandma Connie for her to put them on me, but grandma told me I needed my sock and to get them, so I dutifully obeyed. Mommy noticed that got another tooth in, is this ever going to end?

I got a cup out of the pantry this morning and then stood over by the fridge where the water comes out because I wanted mommy to put water in it for me. I've got her trained to know what I want :). I've been saying "wow: and said "ball" today. The next thing you know, I'll be speaking in…um…sentences, yes that's what they call them, sentences. Daddy taught me how to blow kisses, so I've been doing that a lately.

I said "see ya" today. We to the city’s parade and took some of mommy's friends girls with us. Then we took them with us to get something to eat and to the movies. After the movie, we took grandma Connie to the airport. Before we left for the airport I blew grandma a kiss.

I was really cranky this morning because I had a mild fever and runny nose. Mommy couldn’t find my medicine anywhere, so she had make a trip to the store to get me some. I saw Molly going to get into her dog bed and so I told her said, "No no!" And then ran over to the bed and got in it so that Molly couldn’t. I can be a stinker sometimes.

Mommy was taking me to change me and told me that I was stinky, so I fanned my hand in front of my face. I felt it proper considering the circumstances. Then I was trying to pick up some over my toys. I had an armful and went to pick up another one, when one fell out of my arms. I went to pick up that one and another one fell, this went on a few more times before I finally gave up and threw them all on the ground. I girl can only do so much, you know. Then I took two pots out of the cupboard and put them in the dog bed and then laid in the dog bed next to them.

We watched a movie today, mommy found to amusing that I would laugh during it.

Mommy was very entertained in her Sunday school class she teaches. They were doing a song and one of the actions that went to the song was to blink your eyes. One of the girls said that if you blink your eyes boys will like you, it was really cute. After church we went over to grandma and grandpa Jones's for Father’s Day dinner.

Over this weekend, I slept in mommy and daddy's bed because I've been having sleeping problems. One morning I woke up and said, “Daddy!” I suppose it was cute, or so says mommy.

Mommy aired up my swimming pool and let me play in it until I got to cold. I was carrying one of my toys around in my shoe, these shoes are a multipurpose item if you ask me. The other day I had two trains and two dominoes in my shoe carrying them around.

I finally fell asleep on my own last night and woke up happy for the first time since two Sundays ago! Mommy is soooo happy about this. I was playing with mommy's cell phone and took it over to Maggie, lifted up her ear, and put the phone up to it. The phone was for her, what else was I supposed to do? I've learned to fold my arms for prayers, mommy is very excited about this.

Mommy took me to the park with aunt Jenny and the kids, and I had a good time. I've started to say yummy, water (wawa), and banana (nana). I'm a big fan of this talking thing, it's so helpful when I want something.

Mommy, daddy, uncle Clancy, and I went to the zoo this morning. I was concerned and scared at first with all the strangers and weird animals around, but I warmed up to it and had a good time. When we got home mommy tried to take a nap, but I couldn't have that so I made sure I made plenty of noise. The power went out, since there was no air conditioning wit the power out, mommy and I sat in the pool for a while.

Mommy was talking to grandma Connie this morning. When she was talking to her she said "bla bla bla" and so I said it too. Grandma was very amused.

Mommy and I are moving to Idaho in a couple of weeks, so mommy spent the day packing, and I help by playing in the boxes, it was the best I could do.

Uncle Clancy was in his room with the door closed and having seen it done before, I knocked on the door. I also spent about 15 minutes trying to put a bracelet on my doll and I finally gave up and put on the next best spot, which was on my leg.

I tried to feed my teddy bear my sippy cup, but that bear had no appreciation for what I was trying to do and would cooperate. I've find quite a bit of pleasure these days in saying "ticky ticky" and tickling my foot. I got another tooth in. Daddy took me to the park with grandma and grandpa Jones.

Uncle John came by to take pictures of the house and give mommy and daddy the paperwork to sign to get the house on the market.
